Lecturers at PIA are responsible for ensuring and promoting academic integrity within their units. As soon as a breach is suspected, it should be reported.

Staff are expected to uphold ethical standards in all areas of academic activities.

    • Encourage Academic Integrity amongst your students by:

      • Discussing the relationship of academic integrity to unit assessments. You may want to link this conversation back to the Academic Integrity Module the students have completed.
      • Fostering the development of academic integrity-related skills in your unit activities and workshops
      • Promoting resources on referencing and citation available at PIA through the Study Skills Workshops

    • Staff Facing Academic Integrity Module
    • External Resources
    • The academic integrity project team held a webinar on 13 October 2020 to talk through the newly launched TEQSA academic integrity toolkit. You can view the recording here.

    • Academic integrity is an important component of an educational journey.  This resource contains a collection of best practices.

    • Promoting integrity begins with building awareness of forms of academic misconduct. Whilst all our new students complete the Academic Integrity Module (AIM), it is our collective responsibility to promote and reinforce this in the classroom. This resource covers how to identify different trends in academic misconduct.

    • TEQSA and higher education providers share a focus on the prevention, detection and substantiation of commercial academic cheating, also known as contract cheating. The resource, including an investigator evidence guide and comprehensive good practice note, are designed to support us to adopt good practice. Please ensure you report any incidents of suspected contract cheating to Mohammad for investigation.

    • If you think you’ve seen an academic cheating website or advertisement, you can report it to TEQSA via the linked complaint form. If you see any advertisements on our campus, please tear them down and report to management.
